Fujitsu LifeBook E8410 Review

Fujitsu LifeBook E8410

The Fujitsu E8410 is a Santa Rosa (Inter Core 2 DUO Processor) updated model of Fujitsu LifeBook laptop, suitable for business use as it features a low-end 8400M-G DX10 graphics card but excellent connectivity and port options as well as a great battery life for long travel times. The outside design of this one is based on black matte plastic with some glossy highlights in the front, while the interior is mostly light-silver. If the laptop is powered on, if the battery is charging or discharging, the remaining charge in the battery, optical or storage drive activity, wireless activity are all shown on the upper side of the keyboard without the use of any led.

The 15 inch screen is bright enough that you can comfortably run at 50% of the screen brightness within the office, but, like most of the laptops, it has poor vertical angles while the horizontal ones are almost perfect. The speakers work fine and they do not sound distorted even the highest volumes, they just lack the bass because of their tiny size. The Fujitsu E8410 configuration is equipped with a 100GB Fujitsu hard drive running at 5400RPMs which is the standard speed for laptop drives and for general multimedia use it would suffice.

Generally this laptop is whisper silent and even for watching DVDs and listening to CDs this laptop is still fairly quiet. It is noticeably warmer (not hot) on the surface but, compared to many other laptops, it maintains itself really cool. The keyboard (with white design) is usable and typing on it is quiet. The touchpad is responsive and it includes a fingerprint reader between the 2 buttons. In addition, two wider mouse buttons are placed at the top of the touchpad. Apart from the usual array of ports, Fujitsu included both PCMCIA and ExpressCard technology. The laptop will last approx. 5 hours 30 minutes thanks to the 8-cell battery.
